Nutrien and Landmark Lead Australia’s Agribusiness

Landmark Nutrien

Nutrien’s (then Agrium) first entry point into Australia for back in 2002, Landmark has been leading rural Australia’s agribusiness for over 150 years. This nearly 2-decade long partnership between Nutrien and Landmark has made strides toward achieving our vision of feeding the world from the ground up.

The Melbourne Head Office operation times are from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m. It houses supportive units to the business including Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Safety, Fertiliser, and Distribution.

The HR team is made up of 12 team members. Everyone except the HR Managers are based in Head Office. The team has 3 HR Managers who are located within the network. Several of the team members have been worked with Landmark for up to 10 years and some have just joined. The team looks forward to celebrating many first-year anniversaries with them. Every month, the Landmark HR team has a business briefing with morning tea which brings everyone together in the office. During this time they celebrate birthdays and service awards as well as hear from the MD about business news. Earlier this year, the HR team participated in a volunteer program earlier this year where we went and gardened for Fareshare as part of our purpose of “Growing from the ground up”. We encourage other teams to organize their own similar initiatives.

The Finance team has a morning tea every time when it’s their month-end. It’s a great way to thank everyone for their hard work during peak times and for any additional hours they put in.

Melbourne Head Office celebrates Wellness week, RUOK Day, Australia Day where they host lunch or morning tea for the office. The wellness week has activities such as bike and blend, nutritional talks and massage angels for the office. Additionally, every month the office celebrates team birthdays with a yummy cake. It’s a great opportunity for the team to step away from their desks and chat about their weekends and get to know each other on a personal level.

The Landmark office has a mixed netball team that plays every Thursday at the local courts against other companies in the area. This fosters communication across functions and work relationships. It’s another great way to get out of the office for 30 mins and get some exercise with their colleagues.

With 2,000 employees and 400 locations, Landmark plays a vital role in Australia’s agriculture industry. In addition to the expansive varieties of liquid and solid fertilizer developed to tend to the needs of all seasons of cropping, cotton, horticulture, viticulture, and pasture care, Landmark’s team of professional agronomists are able to provide individualized advice to their customers through testing and analysis of farm soil and plant tissue. This customer-first value is one of the reasons Nutrien and Landmark continue to lead the market in agribusiness.

Landmark serves over 1.2 million tons of fertilizer to its dedicated 100,000 customer base of farmers each year, but fertilizer isn’t the only product the only place Landmark gets its hands dirty. It also provides a source of expertise and high-quality service in merchandise, farm services, wool, livestock, finance, insurance, and real estate. Keeping in mind a global goal of sustainable practices and thoughtful farming, Landmark has a steadfast commitment to providing Australian farmers with everything they need to be productive and successful. During times of crisis such as drought and flooding, Landmark donates funds to farmers and flood relief charities such as the Sisters of the North and BlazeAid.

Landmark is also responsible for the high-quality products produced by several other recognizable brands that have the flexibility to serve the largest farms and the smallest urban gardens, such as Loveland, Genfarm, Dalgety Animal Health, Dyna-Gro Seed, and Fertimax. From Brisbane to Melbourne, Australian farmers and growers can count on Landmark to provide consistent results.

The global reach of Nutrien and Landmark’s dedication to Australia is helping Australian farmers grow our world from the ground up and provide a sustainable and reliable food source. No matter where you are in the world, Nutrien can help make sure you have the best supplies in your field.
