Here’s a fun activity you can do with your kids for Nurses’ Month this May: Make care packages for the nurses in your life! This is a perfect time to put together gifts to brighten the day of the nurses you know. You can assemble just one package for a special someone, or choose a healthcare facility to send a larger amount of self-care items to. It’s up to you! Here are some ideas for items you can include:
Thank You Cards
With your kids, write out thank you cards to show your gratitude for the work that nurses put in every day to show their patients care.
Nurses often don’t get long breaks to eat big meals. Include some high-protein snacks like granola bars or mixed nuts to help them get through a long shift.
When you’ve been working as hard as nurses do, sometimes you need a snack that melts away your stress. Include quality chocolates or other indulgent snacks in your care package to really sweeten it up!
Foot Soak Epsom Salt
There’s nothing better after a long day on your feet than soaking in the tub. Nurses spend a lot of time on their feet, too, so a foot soak in epsom salt will feel especially great!
Custom Name Badge Decor
With a little creativity, you can turn a drab badge clip into a bright spot in a nurse’s day! With felt and a little sewing help from mom and dad (or glue) you can make all kinds of shapes to adhere to badge clips.
Whatever you include in your care package for the nurses you know, it will bring them a smile to know that you are thinking of them. We know their work is incredibly important all year long, but you can use Nurse’s Month as a chance to remind them how much they mean to you!
