Most years, golf fans would have all eyes on Augusta, Georgia right now as they prepare for another tournament “Unlike Any Other,” AKA, The Masters. While this year’s event has been postponed to ensure patron & participant safety in light of global COVID-19 outbreaks, this is still a perfect time of year to feature our Nutrien Family member Augusta Nitrogen.
Springtime in Augusta, Georgia means flowers everywhere you look. Nicknamed the “Garden City” for its many private gardens in historic homes, Augusta’s public landscapes offer vibrant blooms, as well. Azaleas are a favorite, but you’ll also see dogwood, magnolias, and jasmine sporting their finest spring colors.
Other vibrant displays you’ll see in Augusta are its public art! New murals have been popping up by local artists all over the city to give residents and visitors a bright spot in their day. There will even be a mural dedicated to one of Augusta’s most famous residents, James Brown, painted in the middle of downtown very soon!
James Brown isn’t the only musician from the Augusta area to make it big, either. Opera superstar Jessye Norman called Augusta home, and country band Lady Antebellum even has an amphitheater named after them in their neighboring hometown of Evans. Local bands starting out can play in a variety of venues downtown, and larger venues such as the Imperial and Miller Theaters host lots of great concerts all year!
There are lots that Augusta, Georgia has to offer outside of golf, like art and great scenery. Our Augusta-based Nutrien Family members work hard to provide needed materials to our partners in the Southeast United States!
