Benito, Manitoba, the Gateway to Valley

Ever been to a bonspiel? Our Nutrien Family Members in Benito sure have! Located at the entrance to Manitoba’s Swan River Valley, Benito has lots of recreation activities to offer, including bonspiels… curling tournaments!

This agricultural town has a strong community base that loves to celebrate with each other. Just before COVID-19 restrictions were put in place, their community even got together for a supper hosted by the Benito firemen! What a touching way for firemen and their families to serve the community, beyond all they do for us in emergencies.

Another recent event was the bonspiel, aka curling tournament, held at the Benito Recreation Centre. Our Nutrien Family Members from Benito will have to tell us who won, “Bragging Rights and the great hand-picked prize!”

The Benito Recreation Centre hosts all sorts of community events, from curling to concerts, and even birthday parties! It’s not the only recreation option, though. The surrounding countryside of Benito has lots of natural beauty. It is dubbed the “Gateway to the Valley,” in reference to the Swan River Valley that meets the Duck Mountains near town. Duck Mountain Provincial Park is just a short drive away from town, where you can fish, swim, hike and enjoy snow sports in the winter.

Benito is a close-knit community that we are proud to call Family! Thank you to our Nutrien partners in Benito helping us grow the world from the ground up!
