New Year’s Day 5K Run & Walk-January 1st

Get ready to shake, rattle and roll (or at the very least walk) on the first day of 2018 at Chicago’s 33rd New Year’s Day 5K Run & Walk. This iconic annual sprint is a favorite with Windy City fitness enthusiasts. Plus, it’s an awesome opportunity to welcome the new year on a healthy footing.

F3 Lake Half Marathon-January 20th

There is an awards ceremony inside the United Club for top 5 men and women in the Half Marathon. This is the 9th annual event and has become one of the Chicago’s favorite events.

AON Step up for Kids-January 28th

Climb 80 floors to the top of the Aon Center while raising money for the patients and families of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago during the 21st annual Aon Step Up for Kids.

 

Cincinnati, Ohio

Topo Trail Run Series Race #3-January 6th

Welcome to the 2017-2018 Topo Trail Running Series.  This is a no frills trail run race series with the goal of getting you out on the trails in the winter months.  Each race location will have a one (5 to 6 miles) and two (10 to 12 miles) loop courses.  The races will be timed with water stops and snacks afterward.

Winter Wonderland Run-January 21st

Yes, there will be a Winter Wonderland Run in 2018 and it will be on the West Side at Fernbank Park. Fernbank Park is located on Thornton Road across from Sayler Park. Registration opens at Noon and race is at 1:00 PM.

Splash and Dash 1-January 28th

1000-yard indoor swim followed by outdoor 5K.  Sound like fun?  Sounds like serious cross training!  Travel to nearby by Beavercreek for this event.

 

Augusta, Georgia

6th Annual New Year’s Day Resolution Run-January 1st

This run is held at the USCA Pacer Path; why make it easy? It is the toughest run in the Southeast. You can run either 5K, 10K or both. 5K Race starts at 10:00 am Monday 01/01/18

8th Annual DGC 5K-January 20th

Join Hopeful Hounds, Inc. for the 8th Annual Dog Gone Cold 5k run/walk on January 20, 2018 at the Julian Smith BBQ Pit (3 Milledge Road) in Augusta, GA. The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:30a.m. and the 5k will begin at 10:00a.m. All runners and walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5k and bring their canine companions! This event will be held rain or shine.

Resolution 5K Run/Walk-January 27th

Start off your new year by participating in the Annual Resolution Run that benefits Christ Church Health Clinic located in Augusta, GA. By your participation in this 5K run/walk, you help this clinic continue to thrive.

 

Aurora, North Carolina

Resolution Run 5K-January 6th

Come start your new year off with a great start in downtown Richlands with the Resolution Run! The race course works its way around the historical district of Richlands, the downtown and neighboring homes.
Steps to Freedom 5K-January 20th

Steps to Freedom 5K run/walk to support victims of human trafficking. True Justice International is a nonprofit with offices in New Bern and Jacksonville. All proceeds will go to support the mission of bringing restoration and healing to victims of human trafficking and support the safe house initiative.

Steps to Freedom 5K-January 27th

While the race on the 20th is in Jacksonville, if you can’t make it on the 20th, travel to nearby New Bern for the race on the 27th.

Julington Creek 5K-Polar Bear Plunge-January 6th

Start off 2018 on the right foot with a 5k race (or 1 mile fun run) at the Julington Creek Plantation Aquatic Center. 1140 Durbin Creek Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. Then you are welcomed and challenged to jump in the frigid waters of the Julington Creek’s Aquatic Center Pool!

Best Damn Race Jacksonville-January 13th

The 4th Annual Best Damn Race Jacksonville features a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K on January 13, 2018. Best Damn Race ® is a running series created for runners by runners. It doesn’t matter if you are an elite runner, first timer, walker, or using a baby jogger, we want you to have the best DAMN race experience.

2018 Newnan’s Lake 15k-January 27th

The Newnan’s Lake 15k begins and ends at Earl P. Powers Park (boat ramp) on Newnan’s Lake off Hawthorne Road. The course follows flat, fast roads along picturesque Newnan’s Lake. The Newnan’s Lake 15k is one of the prettiest 15k races in the state, with nearly perfect racing weather every year. Expect some great times here! There will be three water stops along the way stocked with water and Gatorade.

 

Geismar, Louisiana

USS Kidd Veterans Memorial and Museum- Monday-Friday 9:30am-3:30pm; Saturday/Sunday 10am-4pm.

Take a tour of the WWII Fletcher class destroyer, restored to her 1946 appearance with over 50 inner spaces to see. The museum includes a P-40 aircraft, ship models, full-scale replica of gun deck of Old Ironsides. See the Louisiana Memorial Plaza with an eternal flame as a memorial to all Louisiana service members lost in combat, and a Corsair A-7E jet as a memorial to Vietnam Veterans.

Louisiana 5K-January 13th

The 7th annual Louisiana 5K will take place in downtown Baton Rouge at 8am. Starts and finishes at the Louisiana State Museum.

The Louisiana Marathon-January 14th

The Louisiana marathon continues on Jan. 14th from downtown Baton Rouge.

 

Joplin, Missouri

Joplin Family Y-Chilly 5K-January 1st

Start the new year on the right foot with the Joplin Family Y! This race event features a 5K and a 1-mile Kids’ Frozen Fun Run. This year, we are remembering our roots with a route that begins at the former Downtown Y and ends at the Joplin Family Y.

Fresh Start 5K-January 6th

Would you like a Fresh Start to the New Year? Please join us on Saturday, January 6, 2018 for the 3rd Annual Fresh Start 5K. This race will start and finish in the CNH Reman parking lot. We will have age bracket medals, door prizes, refreshments, and free t-shirts for those who register before the deadline.

Weeping Water, Nebraska

Commitment Day 5K-January 1st

This race in nearby Omaha emphasizes your commitment to a healthy lifestyle.  It’s a new year and a new outlook so join the movement!

First Run of the Year-January 1st

You can choose from either a 5k or 10k each day. How you mix it up is totally up to you. On New Year’s Eve the run will begin at 10:00pm. Lights and reflective vests are encouraged. On New Year’s Day, the run will begin at 10:30am. So, get your RUN ON and register today!

Full Wolf Moon 5K-January 20th

The Full Wolf Moon 5K kicks off the 2018 Winter Fitness Series.  Very flat 1.5-mile closed loop course at scenic Two Rivers State Park in Waterloo, NE.  Just minutes west of Omaha.  USATF Certified and Sanctioned event.

S-NO-W Fun Run-January 6th

Take the short ride to Lake Geneva to race in the S-NO-W Fun Run.  Bundle and dress for the weather as it is sure to be cold.  Brrrrr!

Frigid Family Fun 5K-January 20th

Ring in the New Year by loading up the family and heading to Central Park (and the Riverwalk) for a Frigid Family Fun 5K.

Frosty 5K-January 27th

This race in Waukesha, Wisconsin is part of the Waukesha Janboree. The 5K is two laps around the Fox River in beautiful Frame Park. This is a super duper flat and closed course with an elevation change of 6 feet.

T &T International Marathon-January 21st

The Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon is in its 36th year of historic existence. Our certified course is flat and undulating and will traverse approximately five communities towards the capital, Port of Spain, and the largest Round-A-Bout in the World, The Queen’s Park Savannah celebrating 200 years.
