New Brunswick, Sussex

If you live in Canada and you think Hot Air Ballons then New Brunswick should come to the top of your mind. After all New Brunswick is home to Atlantic Canada’s largest hot air balloon festival.  Thousands converge every year to observe this spectacle!

Today, Sussex is primarily a regional service centre for the agricultural communities of the upper Kennebecasis River valley, as well as a highway service centre on Route 1, the primary highway between Moncton and Saint John. It is the most heavily travelled route in the Maritimes to the United States.

The town is also known for being the home of Sussex Golden Ginger Ale, a popular beverage.  Sussex was once claimed to be the birthplace of the ice cream cone, which has since been debunked.

Some of the most notable people of Kings County, New Brunswick are Curling World Champion, Melanie Robillard, Cyclist, Christian Meier and Julian Austin, a Country music artist who had a number 1 single with “Little Ole Kisses.”
