Weeping Water is a small town near Lincoln, Nebraska. The estimated population is 1507. Weeping Water is known for its limestone quarry. Their motto being “The Limestone Center of the Nation.”
Many of its residents take the 45-minute ride to Nebraska’s capital in Lincoln. Lincoln is named after president Abraham Lincoln and is the economic and cultural hub of the region. Nationally Lincoln is best known as the home of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. Football at the university began in 1890 and is one of only 10 football programs to win 800 or more games.
