Our Nutrien family members in Canada are working hard to do us all proud, so we’ll focus this spotlight on the hometown of one of our Saskatchewan-based members, Yorkton, Canada!
Yorkton is a bustling town a few hours outside of Saskatoon. Founded in 1882 by British settlers, it’s known for fun outdoor activities and a center that lets you stay active all year long!
The Gallagher Centre is a hub for all sorts of activities, hosting sports and conventions throughout the year. Residents can also enjoy year-round ice skating and even an indoor water park. Fishing and hunting are popular in the surrounding countryside in the warmer months. No matter what temperature it is outside, Yorkton knows how to have fun!
Are you a film fanatic? Yorkton is home to a festival dedicated to a film called the Yorkton Film Festival. Canadian filmmakers gather each year for a week of celebrating the art form of cinema. It was established in 1947, making it the longest-running film festival in Canada – 2020 will mark 70 years!
We are happy to have our colleagues in Yorkton, Saskatchewan as part of the Nutrien Family! Thank you for all you do to help us grow the world from the ground up!
